72 HAIR | How good is it really?

There are such an array of products on the market for hair care and it can be quite confusing deciding which one would actually work.

I’ve always been a fan of salon products for my hair as I honestly believe that, even though the initial output of funds is more, they last longer as less product is required, and they definitely leave the hair in a much better condition than store bought products.

BACK STORY; In 2016 I was diagnosed with cancer and not to go too much into what I have been through since then, I was foolish enough to think that after my first round of treatment that I would be cured and life would carry on as normal.

Unfortunately, that has not been the case for me, and I am currently being treated for my 3^rd recurrence of this disease.

Part of treatment is unfortunately chemotherapy and as many of you know, people lose their hair on chemo. Well, actually not! My first chemo in 2016 I didn’t lose a strand of hair but when my 1^st recurrence came around I was told that I will lose all my hair, so I used a cold cap. (It’s a “hat” with a gel inlay that is placed on the head and plugged into a machine which pumps cold air onto your wet head. This freezes the hair follicles and stops the chemo from penetrating, ensuring you don’t lose your hair.) Luckily it worked, although I lost all my eyelashes and eyebrows and all hair on my body from the treatment.

Post treatment, my hair was a mess from the cold cap, and took months to fix after a large chop!

Next recurrence came along and I was on a different type of chemo that also caused hair loss. So, once again I used the cold cap to save my hair. (This was not a vanity thing, so much as I didn’t want my 5-year-old twins to see their mommy lose hair, and a psychological mindset, as people see someone without hair and automatically treat them as a victim or sick person).

This is when I was introduced to 72 Hair products. They are vegan, which means that there are less chemicals going into the hair. I was a little skeptical, but after completing chemo and still using the products, my hair has not even had to recover, it has maintained… well apart from the grey, that had to be fixed :o)

My drying and ironing time has been reduced with the Smoothing Gel treatment done by my stylist and that lasts about 3 months. The bonus is that it’s not like a Brazilian where it changes the chemical make-up of your hair, so my hair doesn’t change, it is just more manageable and a lot smoother and softer.
